The CURIOS lab is involved in the development of new techniques in the field of ultrasound education and training in obstetrics and point-of-care sonography. Modern methods in the field of telemedical technology and augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR) are also applied.
The working group also focuses on new technological developments in the field of handheld ultrasound devices (HHUD) and uses these in the medical education and training of students as well as in postgraduate training. Furthermore, interdisciplinary clinical ultrasound research projects are also being developed to improve patient care and speed up diagnosis.
Thus, focal points in the area of the use and applications of point-of-care sonography in the obstetric setting are also being investigated. In addition, the use of modern 3D printing technology in the field of gynaecological-obstetric ultrasound diagnostics and teaching is also being investigated and experimentally researched.
Another focus is on the application of „deep-learning“ algorithms and „artificial intelligence“ in the field of ultrasound imaging diagnostics as well as the use of wearables to optimise patient care and better prevent obstetric conditions.
